EMDR, Intensives & Specialized Therapy

Beyond weekly sessions, these specialties offer a more targeted path for trauma, faith-integrated care, and deeper healing.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR can help you process painful experiences, trauma, triggers, and negative beliefs so the past does not have to keep controlling how you feel in the present.

EMDR may be a fit if you’re navigating:

  • Trauma or painful experiences
  • Triggers, anxiety, or strong reactions
  • Low self-worth or negative thoughts about yourself
  • Relationship patterns that keep repeating
  • Feeling stuck and ready for change

EMDR Individual Intensives

Samuel came to therapy feeling weighed down. His marriage was struggling, he felt numb and disconnected, and he carried a deep sense of shame he couldn’t fully explain. On the outside, he was dependable — successful in a demanding job, always showing up for others. But inside, he felt stuck, emotionally drained, and unsure how much longer he could keep pushing through.

Because of his full schedule, weekly therapy didn’t feel realistic — or fast enough. That’s where EMDR Intensives made the difference.

EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based therapy for trauma and emotional overwhelm. With EMDR intensives, we condense the work into focused 3-hour sessions over several visits, allowing you to go deeper without the start-and-stop of weekly therapy.

This format is ideal for busy professionals, caregivers, or anyone seeking efficient, effective results with the time and space to fully focus on healing.

In Samuel’s intensive, we focused on:

  • Identifying the root memories fueling his shame and self-criticism
  • Processing painful experiences tied to responsibility, performance, and emotional neglect
  • Releasing the internalized pressure to always “hold it all together”
  • Reconnecting with his core sense of worth, beyond his roles or achievements

By the end of our work together, Samuel wasn’t just feeling better — he was different. He showed up more present in his marriage, more confident in his choices, and no longer ruled by shame.

More About Intensives

Marriage Intensives

Renewed Hope Marriage Intensives

When you’re ready to stop going in circles and start reconnecting.

At Oriyah, we understand that couples often come to therapy after years of hurt, disconnection, and communication patterns that have left them feeling stuck. Many couples reach a point where they feel discouraged and wonder if their marriage can be restored. Sometimes, meeting weekly simply doesn’t feel like enough.

That’s why we offer Renewed Hope Marriage Intensives—a focused opportunity to slow down, go deeper, and dedicate meaningful time to your relationship.

Why an Intensive?

Our Renewed Hope Marriage Intensive provides 21 hours of focused clinical work, broken into 3-hour sessions over several days. This concentrated format gives couples the time and space to go deeper into the challenges affecting their marriage, without the start-and-stop of traditional weekly therapy.

What We Work On

  • Understanding Your Marriage — Explore healthy marriage patterns and understand the dynamics shaping your relationship.
  • Breaking Communication Cycles — Identify why you keep getting stuck and learn healthier ways to communicate and express emotions.
  • Building Emotional Safety — Create a relationship where both partners feel heard, understood, and safe.
  • Reconnecting & Healing — Foster connection, compassion, and a deeper understanding of one another.
  • Building Lasting Tools — Develop practical skills you can continue using long after the intensive ends.

Renewed Hope Starts Here

You don’t have to remain stuck in the same cycle. With focused time, intentional work, and the right support, couples can begin to reconnect, communicate differently, and move toward a healthier marriage.

Christian Counseling

I take a faith-based approach to counseling, rooted in my Christian faith and guided by the example of Jesus, who welcomed and cared for every person in need. Faith is not simply an added resource—it is the foundation of how I understand healing, growth, and human dignity.

Oriyah embodies this vision, symbolizing divine light, guidance, and wisdom. It speaks to the way God’s love brings clarity, hope, and renewal into the places where we struggle most.

My journey with faith: through my own journey, I have experienced firsthand how leaning on God can provide guidance, strength, and peace in the midst of life’s challenges. There was a time when I struggled with feeling uncertain about my purpose and overwhelmed by life’s demands. Turning to prayer, Scripture, and the support of my faith community helped me gain clarity, feel grounded, and recognize my inherent worth.

Working with clients of faith: I work with individuals and couples who practice a faith and desire to integrate it into their healing process. That said, having a faith—or where you are in your faith journey—does not disqualify you from seeking counseling with me. I meet clients exactly where they are, without judgment or shame, honoring your unique path.

Early Trauma Support Within 90 Days

EMDR R-TEP & G-TEP for Individuals and Groups

Two women sharing a warm, supportive conversation over coffee

In the first 90 days after a traumatic event, timely support can make a powerful difference. Whether you’re an individual still feeling the emotional impact of a recent incident, or a group affected by a shared experience, structured trauma therapy can help.

Using R-TEP (Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol) for individuals and G-TEP (Group Traumatic Episode Protocol) for families, teams, or communities, I offer early intervention approaches designed to reduce distress, restore a sense of safety, and support healthy emotional processing. These methods are evidence-based, gentle, and effective—ideal for those in the critical window following trauma.

Individual Support — R-TEP EMDR

Victoria came to therapy after being unexpectedly bitten by a neighbor’s dog. The physical wound healed, but she found herself startled by sudden noises, hesitant to walk outside, and flooded with anxiety whenever she passed the scene. Through R-TEP EMDR, we were able to safely process the trauma. Victoria found her footing again—regaining a sense of calm and confidence in her daily life.

Group Support — G-TEP EMDR

The Porter family experienced a traumatic event that left them shaken and unsure how to move forward as a unit. Each family member had their own reaction—some withdrawn, others hypervigilant or emotionally reactive. Through G-TEP, I guided the family in processing their individual experiences while supporting one another in a shared healing space.

G-TEP can support workplaces, community groups, and organizations following difficult events such as violence, natural disasters, or shared grief. This accessible, trauma-informed approach provides early intervention trauma support that promotes resilience and recovery for groups of any size.
